The Caribou Athletic Club was formed at Bamford Hall in the Spring of 1928.
In the July 1991 photo below, the former Bamford Hall is in the middle of the scene. It was located on 10 Commandments Range, west side, just north of the intersection with Bennett Street. You can read more about Bamford Hall on this website in "Built Heritage" in the drop-down menu under "Photo Gallery" above.

In April 1931, members of the Caribou Club honoured Cuthbert Main with a presentation on his retirement from sport. From Nova Scotia, he was a staff member of the mining company. He was a well-known cricketer in the early mining days and an enthusiastic supporter of all forms of sport; he had been president of the local branch of the Newfoundland Amateur Athletic Association.
