EXTRAS

Personal Experience Stories

This page will feature the stories of people who live, or have lived, on Bell Island, told in their own words. Many of these stories will be from personal interviews that I did in the 1980s and 90s with former miners and others, talking about their experiences working in the Wabana mines and for the mining company. Some will be from personal interviews with women talking about life as the wife of a miner, or other aspects of their life on Bell Island in the mining years. Many of these stories will have been previously unpublished. Some will be from publications that are now out-of-print.
