When you click on "History" in the menu at the top of this page, then scroll down to "Community Organizations," you will then see offshoots for many of Bell Island's community organizations down through the years. Click on each one for their history. The list is not complete as there were many organizations that came and went as Bell Island's population grew and then waned after the mines closed in 1966. As I find information on others, I will add pages for them.
Aside from these pages for individual community organizations, I also have a page on this website called "Timeline of Amenities, Public Services & Utilities" in which I list in chronological order the history of the comings and goings of various community organizations, among those other things. You will also find that page under "History" in the top menu.
Below are some pages from a booklet that was published in July 1988 called "Bell Island Connections," in which the Community Services available on Bell Island in 1988 are listed.
