EXTRAS
This page features items of Bell Island's history and culture that are not covered elsewhere on this website.
In the course of researching Bell Island's rich history, I come across many interesting stories and facts that do not fit easily into the main subject headings of the website. Rather than file these away where they may never see the light of day, I have decided to share them here on this page that I am calling "Extras" for want of a better word.
Here you will find such diverse items as "Animal Stories," (including Belle, the Moose), poetry, memories of Christmas and other "calendar customs," stories of buried treasure, "The Great Dinosaur Fossil," and a daring 1941 "jail break." This, like the rest of the website, will be an on-going endeavour, so check back occasionally for new additions.
Hover your cursor over "Extras" at the top of the page to see and click on the contents.
