This organization seems to have been created by the Lebanese / Syrian community.
In September 1925, the Sporty Few elected their officers as follows: Ford Basha, President; Mrs. E. Gosine, Vice-President; E.J. Ryan, Secretary; Miss Lillian Carbage, Secretary. The group held a Hallowe'en Party with costumes. Prize winners were: Miss May Ezekiel as "Hallowe'en" and Ford Basha as "Yes, we have no bananas." (Bown, 1925, pp. 12 & 13.)
The Sporty Few held their first dance in the C.L.B. Armoury on November 17, 1927. (Bown, 1927, p. 21.)
